Location
Bandar Utama is a suburb in the northern part of Petaling Jaya, Selangor and is located just opposite Taman Tun Dr Ismail in Kuala Lumpur.

Accessibility Via
The township is easily accessible via excellent highways and expressway such as the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP), Sprint Highway (SPRINT), Penchala Link and the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE). There are also buses and shuttle services connecting Bandar Utama with other areas such as Kuala Lumpur, Kelana Jaya, Mont Kiara, Cyberjaya and KLIA2.

Project Development
The housing zone for the link houses in Bandar Utama is formed against a backdrop of 12 integrated neighbourhoods, each self-contained and comprising of not more than 500 comfortable, modern homes. The size of each neighbourhood is kept at this optimum number to foster social interaction in the community. The nucleus of each neighbourhood zone is a cozy playfield, which is within a safe walking distance from all the homes without crossing main roads. These playfields have become the hub of the community as much of the social interaction between neighbours take place here. Each neighbourhood zone is built on a raised platform of 8 to 10 feet above the surrounding main roads. The landscaped embankment surrounding the platform, coupled with the rear fencing of the houses, forms a continuous perimeter fence for the entire neighbourhood. The elevation, embankment and luxuriant vegetation also serve as barriers against noise and dust and provide privacy.

An efficient traffic system ensures that the main arterial roads by-pass the neighbourhood zones; traffic in and out of the neighbourhood zones are channeled through secondary ‘collector’ roads. This system enhances security as through traffic is re-directed around the neighbourhood and makes the residential streets quieter and safer for pedestrian. A comprehensive network of pedestrian walkways links the entire township. These walkways, naturally shaded by trees, enable residents to walk, jog or cycle from one end of the development zone to the other safely and comfortably. These walkways enable the residents to be less reliant on their cars for short distance travel.

The 1st phase of houses in Bandar Utama went on sale in 1991 with 2-storey link houses with overwhelming response from prospective buyers who camped overnight for a choice lot. With buyers looking for more useful space, while the average family size has remained the same, changes in lifestyle have resulted in this demand for more living space and the solution was the introduction of 2½-storey in 1997 in addition to the standard 2-storey link houses. Space to live in and to move ideas, this is something one can expect from a link house in Bandar Utama. By 2007, 5,626 homes comprising of 2-storey and 2½-storey were completed.
